Small and Tough

Reviewer: Michael P. Tashjian,
This is a new set that I got last month. The drill and impact both have led charge indicators that let you know how the battery is doing along with an led to light up the work. The drill will drive about any screw my larger ones will. The impact rating did not mean much to me so I checked it in ftlbs. I get around thirty ftlbs. which is enough to break phillips bits if you try. The flashlight works well and will stick with it's magnet and the head pivots. The charger has worked well and the batteries last a long time. If you think your 18 volts drivers are getting heavy while on a ladder. Give this set a try. They will not replace the 18 volt and larger tools but they make a nice addition and work well.

Milwaukee 2490-23 12-Volt Compact Drill, Impact Wrench, and Worklight Combo Kit I caught this little outfit on sale @ $145.00. Built a red oak wall bench using both drill & impact driver. Plenty of power for a 12 volt. Once you go litium batteries you won't go back. Wished it came in a moulded case instead bag,but bag does let you add bits, drills, etc.Very pleased so far.

I purchased this Milwaukee 12 volt combo drill/impact set after checking out other brands of the same style, including Snapon.
Milwaukee beat them all on torque, including the much touted Makita. The rpm is very fast for the impact, as is the drill, although a bit slower.
After owning these for over two months now, I can say that they are also very good on battery life and this is being used in a professional automotive shop daily.
Milwaukee has a winner here!.
These small tools give work great

Great product. I don't know how I lived with out the impact before. I used it side by side with my Makita 18v driver. It was slower and battery ran out of juice quicker, but it worked well driving in 3" lags as well as setting up kitchen cabinets. Wished the led lights had a time delay after using letting go of the trigger like makita's do. The impact will definitely be the most used tool in this kit. The light's magnet didn't have as solid of a grip as I'd like.

This is a great set of cordless tools. I also have the Milwaukee V28 (very heavy but a powerhouse) and a Makita V18 Lith Ion (second favorite drill) but I find myself reaching for the compact drill/driver or impact driver almost all of the time in my shop. If you do a lot of drilling, just make up a set of drill bits for yourself with the hex shaft ends (you can purchase individual ones at Lowes or Home Depot or buy a set from DeWalt etc.). It's so convenient when heading out of the house on a small job to just throw everything into the bag and toss into the car to take with you. The Lith ion batteries give you a long run time and I guarantee that you'll be reaching for one of these most of the time when working. I have been most impressed with the impact driver/wrench when driving screws. You just have to back off when screw is set to prevent you from snapping the head off. In any event you'll be happy with this set.
